Job Description

As a Chicago Tech PR intern at 3Points, you will be responsible for assisting our Chicago Tech team with projects and
day-to-day tasks associated with each valued client. Although 3Points is working remotely for the foreseeable future,
you will be working closely with our team and playing a significant role in delivering outstanding client experiences.
We are looking for young professionals who are ready to embrace the challenge of communicating effectively in an
entirely digital environment and are prepared to help us maintain our positive and team-oriented ethos. 3Points has
a track record of creating positive internship experiences, and our intern alums are highly ambitious, thoughtful,
and passionate professionals.​

Responsibilities include:
 

Chicago Tech
 

  • Assisting with editing client press releases, creating media lists, writing pitches, and tracking media coverage

  • Creating prep documents for client media interviews and client speaking engagements at events

  • Potentially leading a client account, including devising earned, owned, and social media strategies and driving execution

  • Helping with both corporate- and executive-level branding projects for clients

  • Conducting research

  • Participating in team brainstorming sessions

  • Taking notes during client meetings
     

3Points
 

  • Creating/editing blog content for 3Points

  • Writing social media copy for 3Points’ Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn and managing 3Points’ social media calendar

  • Assisting in monitoring and researching business development leads

  • Identifying and leading 3Points process improvement projects

  • Conducting research

  • Maintaining 3Points’ online files and databases

Preferred Qualifications

Due to the nature of responsibilities given to interns, we ask for applicants to be committed and hardworking individuals who are willing to take initiative and responsibility no matter the task. Applicants must be:
 

  • Fluent and grammatically-savvy writers.

  • Available to start in the fall of 2021. Applicants who are available to work full-time (40 hours/week) are preferred. 

  • 0-1 years’ experience in PR, social media, marketing, or other related roles or internships.

  • Interested in attending (virtual) industry events on behalf of 3Points.

Applicants should also have:
 

  • A keen interest in fully immersing themselves in the Chicago startup and tech ecosystem.

  • An appetite to learn new skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Experience in content creation and/or graphic design.

  • Familiarity with Google Apps and Slack.

  • Ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of social media platforms — including Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit,
    and Instagram.
